At Last The Truth About How To Get A Six Pack

Six Pack Stomach - How to really get those six pack abs

OK here is where it’s really at. You can do all the sit ups and ab workouts that you like, but unless you get your body fat right down, you will never get to see that six pack!

There is no shortage of equipment out there today, that will help you build your abdominal muscles. The trouble is that the ads lead you to believe that it is easy, you just need to use their equipment and you will have a six pack in no time.

Well if only it was that easy then everybody would be walking around with a six packs but unfortunately that's not the case.

The majority of this equipment does quite a good job of targeting the exact muscles required to build a well formed six pack. Unfortunately they do not give you the full picture about how to get those new muscles out there on display.

So while you are working away at your sit ups or using whatever machine it is you have purchased, you must also work very hard to reduce your body fat.

Abdominal exercises won't generally burn a lot of fat so don't think that doing abdominal exercises alone will get do the job of both building your muscles AND burning away your excess body fat.

Another myth is that by working your abdominal muscles you will reduce the fat layer directly over those muscles. This is being referred to as "spot reducing". You can try it if you like, but it does not work.

During exercise your body will look for carbohydrates as the energy required to sustain the activity. If there are absolutely no carbohydrates in your body it will look for protein next and finally fats.

Carbohydrates and to a lesser extent protein are fast burning fuels for your body, and when you are exercising that is what it needs. Fat takes quite a lot longer to breakdown and use, so it is normally the last from of energy burnt during exercise.

Only a carefully constructed weight loss program will help you get down to a body fat percentage that will have that fabulous new six pack actually on display!
